Our newspaper, Beijing, January 8th (Reporter He Yong) A few days ago, the reporter learned from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Landscaping and Greening that Beijing's new round of million-acre acres of afforestation and greening in 2019 has been successfully completed. 11.59 million seedlings, exceeding the annual target of 230,000 mu. In addition, the landscaping of the capital is undergoing a transition from “with or without” to “good or bad”. Beijing is greener, more beautiful, and more vibrant, improving the temperament and beauty of the capital.

2019 is the second year of a new round of million-acre afforestation in Beijing. More than 4,000 professional afforestation teams in the city started a forestation conference battle. While maintaining "incremental", focusing on "improving quality" and continuously improving the ecological function of forest land and green land, from planning and site selection to tree species selection, all reflect the concept of high-quality development.

According to Wang Jinzeng, director of the Ecological Protection and Restoration Division of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Landscaping and Greening, the document issued by Beijing put forward 13 specific technical measures for five major aspects, including forest quality improvement.

According to reports, in construction, Beijing has always followed the principles of suitable trees, natural harmony and beautiful landscapes, and insisted on selecting "native, longevity, stress-resistant, food-source, beautiful" tree species for mixed configuration and different age combinations. At the same time, nearly 100 species of rural land cover plants under the tree were "turned in place", and together they built a healthy and stable forest and wetland ecosystem, enhanced biodiversity, and allowed citizens to not only smell the fragrance of flowers and plants, but also to hear birds and tweets.
